Hamakua Marsh: Nature Journaling and Malama (all ages) (Oahu)
April 21 @ 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm HST
Nature journal birds and native plants at the wonderful Hamakua Marsh. Check out photos and a write up from our previous event!
Schedule:
4-6pm: Planting ahuawa (a native marsh plant) and light weeding with Healthy Climate Communities.
6-7pm: Bird walk and nature journaling. We will likely see the ae’o, alae ‘ula, and auku’u, and hopefully the alae ke’oke’o as well.
Please wear closed toe shoes, come dressed for the weather, and bring your own water bottle. Strudy long sleeves and pants encouraged.
If you can, bring your own journal and drawing supplies (nothing fancy — pencil and paper work fine!) and your own work gloves.
We will have binoculars, weeding tools, extra gloves, and extra drawing supplies available to borrow.
Event is free but a $10-$20 donation is encouraged: https://healthyclimatecommunities.org/donate/
