Nature Journaling: Supporting Relationships Between People and ʻĀina (Oahu) (all ages)

June 26 @ 1:30 pm - 4:00 pm HST

This creative workshop welcomes participants of all ages and abilities to learn from one another and explore how nature journaling can strengthen our capacity for observation, connection, and care—for the ʻāina, ourselves, and our communities.

Nature journaling is the practice of documenting our experiences and curiosity through words, pictures, and numbers. This approach allows multiple ways of understanding to coexist both on the page and in our minds. Over time, journaling becomes a powerful memory aid and healing practice, helping us build a deep awareness of place and identity by recognizing the patterns and relationships that shape our local ecosystems and our lives.

In this workshop, we will come together to nature journal in the same place at the same time. By sharing our pages and stories, we’ll begin to weave connections with one another and with the land around us. Through collectively nurturing these core attributes of attention and caring, this work will hopefully leave us inspired to support the health of the ʻāina and our communities.

This session will begin at the College of Education and then move outside for nature journaling. To join, come to Wist Hall by 1:30pm.
